Meet the Coaches

  • Tim Franklin • Owner & Head Coach

    Tim has been involved in triathlon and multisport events since 2004 and has been competing ever since. Since starting coaching in 2010 he has worked on and developed a number of training methods and philosophies to assist countless athletes achieve their goals in their athletic endeavours

    Tim is currently on a mission to run around the world, however is still finding time to write programs for Tri Nation athletes. You can track his progress on his instagram @timmyrfranklin.

  • Jordan Curd • Head Coach

    Jordan took over the reigns at Tri Nation when Tim embarked on his mission to run the world in 2022. He has been involved in triathlon for 15 years, including 6 years as a coach.

    Jordan specialises in developing athletes’ technical skills to increase their efficiency and reduce injury. He is currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and his qualifications listed below highlight his commitment to coach education.

  • Ray Reupena • Assistant Coach

    At Tri Nation we are lucky to have the current head coach of the Samoan Triathlon Federation on our staff! Ray has paved the first steps for hundreds of beginner triathletes in our club since he started triathlon coaching in 2010.

  • Todd Gibbons • Assistant Coach

    Toddy has been coaching in some form for over 20 years, with experience across rugby, touch football, and triathlon.

    You will see Toddy at every squad session, either as a coach or an athlete. His knowledge of being an athlete with a full-time job and other commitments means he understands the intricacies of the age-group triathlete lifestyle. Toddy is a short-course specialist, but is currently preparing for his long course debut!

  • Maggie Patterson • Coach

    Mags is our cycling specialist coach, and is always ready to dish out some punishment!
